GHANA TO HOSTS 7TH ECOWAS FAIR

Ghana has been nominated to host the 7th edition of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Fair. This nomination comes after the Ghana Trade Fair Co. Ltd was awarded the best exhibition country at the last edition of the fair in Togo.
The Ghana Trade Fair Co. Ltd with her mandate to organise fairs on behave of the government would be the host of all these businesses from all over the ECOWAS Region.
The ECOWAS Fair is a regional platform for accessing West Africa’s market of some 300 million consumers. It seeks to promote economic integration and trade among industrialists, investors, manufacturers, commercial operators and buyers in all member states.

In an interview with the Ag. Chief Executive of GTFC, Mr. Ebby Koney on the award received by the company, he noted that, Ghana was selected ahead of the other member countries such as Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire.
The 7th ECOWAS Fair is scheduled next year but the actual date and theme for the event would be communicated later as organisers meet. GTFC in line with her organising the fair would meet the ECOWAS Commission to finalise the planning of the fair, which would last some weeks which would be agreed on during the meeting.

“We (GTFC) as event organisers would do everything possible in our capacity to ensure that the 7th Edition of the ECOWAS Fair be successful and unprecedented.  Again, we will do everything possible to ensure that regional trade fair affords participants the opportunity to take part in conferences, seminars and workshops on various themes related to the overall theme of the fair”, said Mr. Ebby Koney, Ag. CEO of GTFC.
The successful organisation the 7th edition of the ECOWAS by GTFC would put Ghana on the International map and promote trade at the regional level. Stakeholders of the country’s economy especially the private sector are expected to participate fully in the fair which would bring together an estimated population of one million.
