GHANA TO HOSTS 7TH ECOWAS FAIR
Ghana has been nominated to host the 7th
edition of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Fair. This
nomination comes after the Ghana Trade Fair Co. Ltd was awarded the best
exhibition country at the last edition of the fair in Togo.
The Ghana Trade Fair Co. Ltd with her mandate to organise fairs on behave of the government would be the host of all these businesses from all over the ECOWAS Region.
The ECOWAS Fair is a regional platform for accessing West Africa’s market of some 300 million consumers. It seeks to promote economic integration and trade among industrialists, investors, manufacturers, commercial operators and buyers in all member states.
The Ghana Trade Fair Co. Ltd with her mandate to organise fairs on behave of the government would be the host of all these businesses from all over the ECOWAS Region.

In an interview with the Ag. Chief
Executive of GTFC, Mr. Ebby Koney on the award received by the company, he
noted that, Ghana was selected ahead of the other member countries such as
Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire.
The 7th ECOWAS Fair is scheduled
next year but the actual date and theme for the event would be communicated
later as organisers meet. GTFC in line with her organising the fair would meet
the ECOWAS Commission to finalise the planning of the fair, which would last
some weeks which would be agreed on during the meeting.
“We (GTFC) as event organisers would do
everything possible in our capacity to ensure that the 7th Edition
of the ECOWAS Fair be successful and unprecedented. Again, we will do everything possible to
ensure that regional trade fair affords participants the opportunity to take
part in conferences, seminars and workshops on various themes related to the
overall theme of the fair”, said Mr. Ebby Koney, Ag. CEO of GTFC.
The successful organisation the 7th
edition of the ECOWAS by GTFC would put Ghana on the International map and
promote trade at the regional level. Stakeholders of the country’s economy
especially the private sector are expected to participate fully in the fair
which would bring together an estimated population of one million.
